When we launched earlier this year, we never expected there would be a global pandemic that would necessitate elopements and intimate ceremonies. Today, as the future remains just as uncertain as it did in March, we are humbled to be here as a resource to provide insight, tips, and comfort to couples navigating a whole new way of getting married—which now looks much smaller, but no less meaningful.
In recent months, I had some special opportunities to talk to industry pros about eloping during this time. A huge thank you to each for thinking of me and featuring Art of Eloping.

“Eloping vs Wedding” and “Tips on Eloping,” Taylor Parker Photography, June 2020
So this was a lot of fun. Asheville-based photographer Taylor Parker interviewed me for her new YouTube channel (check it out!) about all things eloping for couples who now have to pivot from the big wedding to something much more intimate due to COVID-19. She also interviews a couple who did just that and made it a heck of a lot of fun. Plus, I spill the tea on a few industry secrets.
“Eloping 101,” The Stylist Abroad Podcast, June 2020
My podcast debut! I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with a dear friend, neighbor, and longtime supporter of this whole elopement thing, Ashley Peters, AKA The Stylist Abroad, about eloping during COVID-19 (and why you should elope in general). Give it a listen and be sure to subscribe, rate, and review her super insightful podcast!
“Love Isn’t Cancelled: Embracing the Art of Elopement,” Bluemont Vineyards, May 2020
I spoke with the cool peeps at Bluemont Vineyards, a stunning family-owned winery and vineyard that sits on the first ridge of Virginia’s majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, for their blog post on the how-tos of eloping. Bluemont (which is now open!) has recently added elopement packages to their menu of wedding offerings, which start at a crazy good deal of $500.
“Eloping Evolves from Unconventional to Trending,” Alexandria Living, April 2020
And, throwing it back to our first spot of press, here’s a lovely article about how Art of Eloping came to be by the talented folks at Alexandria Living. A huge thanks to publisher Beth Lawton for being a champion of us early on, and for including our story in your inaugural wedding issue. It’s a real honor.
